The meeting with the Ambassador of Bahrain focused on the bilateral agenda

Beautiful coincidence: on the same day the Lithuanian Government approved the appointment of Ramūnas Davidonis as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lithuania to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Ambassador Davidonis met with H.E. Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah bin Ali Al Khalifa, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the UAE.

Ambassadors focused on the bilateral agenda, especially the promotion of economic cooperation. Lithuanian Ambassador also presented Lithuania’s assessment of Russia's aggression in Ukraine, including the need for the international community to actively respond to the Kremlin's blockade of the Ukrainian ports, which threatens to evolve into a huge food crisis for some countries in the Middle East.

The Ambassador of Bahrain was especially impressed by the Lithuanian coat-of-arms symbol Vytis and the element of a horse. Lithuanian horse breed from Lithuanian region of Samogitia - Žemaitukas - was presented to the Ambassador.

The Kingdom of Bahrain recognized Republic of Lithuania 15th September 1991. Diplomatic relations were established in 3rd July 1995.

Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania to the United Arab Emirates is also accredited to Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, State of Kuwait, Republic of Iraq and Kingdom of Bahrain.
