Lithuania and Bahrain Celebrate 30 Years of Diplomatic Relations

On 3 July 2025, the Republic of Lithuania and the Kingdom of Bahrain mark the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, a milestone reflecting three decades of mutual respect, constructive dialogue, and growing cooperation.

To commemorate the occasion, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, H.E. Kęstutis Budrys, extended sincere congratulations to H.E. Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain. In his letter, Minister Budrys highlighted the enduring spirit of partnership between the two nations and expressed confidence in the continued strengthening of bilateral ties.

“Our countries have laid a solid foundation for cooperation. I am confident that our friendly relations will continue to grow in both depth and substance,” the Minister noted.

Minister Budrys emphasized Lithuania’s interest in expanding cooperation with Bahrain in areas such as security, culture, and sports, as well as in tourism, which fosters greater understanding between societies. He also underlined Lithuania’s readiness to strengthen economic ties, especially in fintech, life sciences, renewable energy, and green innovation. The Minister encouraged deeper collaboration between Lithuanian and Bahraini universities, research institutions, and technology hubs.

H.E. Ramūnas Davidonis, Lithuanian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, reaffirms Lithuania’s readiness to deepen its engagement with Bahrain: “As we mark this important anniversary, Lithuania looks forward to expanding its close and friendly cooperation with the Kingdom of Bahrain across a wide range of fields. We see great potential in strengthening our ties in areas such as trade, innovation, culture, and education.”
