Future Emirati Diplomats Visit the Lithuanian Embassy in Abu Dhabi

On June 11, the Embassy of Lithuania in Abu Dhabi welcomed a group of future diplomats from the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy (AGDA) – the UAE’s leading institution for diplomatic training.

During the visit, the Ambassador of Lithuania to the UAE, H.E. Ramūnas Davidonis, introduced Lithuania’s foreign policy priorities, the growing partnership between Lithuania and the UAE, as well as Lithuania’s role in the European Union and the United Nations. Together with the embassy team, the guests also explored Lithuania’s history, culture, and economic strengths, with a special focus on the country’s thriving innovation and high-tech sectors, which are attracting increasing interest from partners in the UAE.

The guests had the opportunity to enjoy traditional Lithuanian flavors and experience a glimpse of Lithuania through its tastes and hospitality.

The lively engagement and curiosity of the AGDA students were particularly appreciated. Their thoughtful questions ranged from the future of bilateral relations to cooperation in multilateral formats, as well as Lithuania’s views on regional and global challenges. The future diplomats showed keen interest in Lithuania’s growing engagement with the Gulf region, areas of business cooperation, and cultural projects that could bring Lithuanian and Emirati societies closer together.

The Embassy of Lithuania in the UAE highly values its growing cooperation with the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy. These student visits have become not only a valued tradition but also an important platform for strengthening the ties between Lithuania and the United Arab Emirates.

As the students approach the completion of their diplomatic studies in the coming weeks, Ambassador Davidonis wished them every success as they take their first steps in their diplomatic careers, contributing to international dialogue and partnership-building.
