Ambassador of Lithuania Ramūnas Davidonis met with the President and CEO of Dubai Chambers H.E. Hamad Buamim.
The President of Dubai Chambers emphasized that he is very positive about cooperation with Lithuania and sees further great potential. This is confirmed by the results of the recent visit by the delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates to Lithuania on 12-13th May. He also highlighted the importance of strengthening cooperation in the areas of life sciences and biotechnology, information and communication technologies, high-quality food imports, transport and tourism. Ambassador Ramūnas Davidonis presented the current political and economic situation in Lithuania and the region.
In 2021, the trade between Lithuania and the UAE reached almost 80 million EUR, which is 37% more than in 2020. During the first quarter of this year the export of Lithuanian goods to the UAE further increased by 129% as compared with the same period last year. This year Lithuania and the UAE are celebrating the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations.
