Ambassador R. Davidonis presented credentials to the UAE President H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan
On 19 September, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Lithuania Ramūnas Davidonis presented letters of credence to H. H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
During the ceremony, Ambassador R. Davidonis celebrated the fact that this year the UAE and Lithuania are celebrating the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
"The UAE is a key regional hub, combining tradition and innovation in harmony. We see great potential for bilateral cooperation with UAE, especially in trade and technology," Ambassador stated.
The ceremony was held at the UAE Presidential Palace – Qasr al Watan.
Ambassador R. Davidonis is the second ambassador of Lithuania residing in the UAE. Diplomatic relations between Lithuania and the UAE were established on 16 October 1992, following the UAE's recognition of Lithuania's restored independence.
